I am not a great electrician but I get by here is my problem. I am trying to get a keyless entry alarm remote start system on the jeep. I am haveing difficulty getting the keyless entry to work. I dont know were the keyless intry module is located by manual shows in the overhead consule but I did not find it. My manual also show relays but I cannot find any that are triggered by door lock switches. the alarm I purchased uses negative triggers to actuate door locks. any help pointers would be appreicaited. There is no factory alarm just keyless entry. I got everything else to work just have problems with the keyless entry part.

great vehicle to start on....  youll need 4 relays for driver and pass. sides, have fun:

lock          5wi
unlock     5wi

Use ORANGE / purple for lock and pink/black for unlock at the drivers door switch to operate the drivers door lock. Use BLACK/ white for lock and pink/black for unlock at the passenger front door switch to unlock all passenger doors. It is required to interface in each door even if the vehicle is equiped with keyless entry.

just a suggestion....
Can also use DEI part number 455t door lock interface control module. This will control door lock, unlock, arm, disarm, dome light supervision and more.

Ok I found your wiring color codes after I posted but I am still just a tad confused. I understand how the 5 wire relay works just not sure how to use it with factory switch. Am I cutting these wires mentioned above and attaching them at 87a and 30 on each of the relays. This makes the most sense to me. Someone please confirm.

Cut the target wires in half and wire in the relays like this: https://www.velocitymotorsport.com/images/install_notes/C.jpg

I just wanted to extend a thank you to everybody that helped.  Velocity motors confirmed my thoughts and I have the relays ordered to be here early next week.  I dont think I will need the schematics for the locks slicksam although I do very much appreiciate the offer.  I got real good look inside the passenger side keyless entry system after I tryed wiring it the first time and I fryed a jumper on the the circuit board.  Fortunately after I soldered another in its place the other door locks will now work again.  OOPS dont tell the wife its her jeep.

Just a small word in my defense I was going off of a automotive haynes manual that did not show the wiring for the newer models.  I also have a 94 grand cherokee and the wiring in that matches the automotive manual and I  just assummed that the 97 Grand was similar.

This is a handy little website.  I wont forget this one
