Does the system have armed in oder to display that the trunk is open or the door is open or the hood is open?

I think so. If you try to arm it with the door open, it will let you know. But when the alarm is off, it will not tell you that the door is open. (no reason to, becuase it should be locked at all times.

So, am I to understand that if the system is disarmed, it is no longer a two-way system. In other words, it cannot be used to monitor inputs susch as door, hood, key, or any of the auxillary outputs??

when the alarm is disarmed, it doesn't do anything. And it should only  be disarmed when you're driving it. Why are you asking this?

all zones or triggers only display on ur LCD only if its ARMED.

dont forget to turn on the pagin mode.
