Just a quick question.  It is not harmfull if you put 12v+ to both sides of the relay coil, Yes or no?  Its very late and the brain is somewhat damaged tonight, and I just cannot remember.  Thank you from the weary...

Sorry probably nto enough info.  customer wants a custom ign. kill setup on 97 Expedition, so have come up with the following.  When you turn key on, fords w/ overdrive come to life with OD on, so setting up relay so that he must turn OD to the off position, in order to engage starter.  wiring as follows.

30-to starter selenoid  86-to grn/wht wire from OD switch, 85 & 87- to key side of starter selenoid wire.

Concern is grn/wht wire from switch is 12v+ when OD is on, and ground when OD is off.  Just want to make sure that no damage to anything if tried to start without turning off OD.  Thanks again.

Omega makes a unit 9part #AU-SI-N)

its a passive unit that requires a 12 switch to reset the unit. it only takes a few minutes to hook up....let me know if you need more info on the unit....

Thanks draasch.  I hooked the relay up as described earlier, and works like a champ.  it wont start with the key until the OD is turned off, then starts fine.  Just had to reroute remote start wire to the far side of estra relay so that it would bypass for remote start.  Customer was very excited at the idea that it was so simple and didnt need any extra switches.
