Does anyone know the specs of the DEI 650T diodes? I believe the part number is IN4004, I need to know the forward votage drop.
Thanks

The diode is rated for 400 volts, at 1 ampere. The voltage drop is a standard 0.70 volts.

Yes a standard silicon diode will *drop / consume* 0.70 volts to break the (barrier voltage) so as it can be forward biased, or conduct.

A standard germanium based diode only requires a 0.30 volts to break over, to conduct.

Is that what you wanted to know?

nah germanium diodes are not common anymore for a reason, they leak more in reverse bias
