hi i have a 1999 Pontiac Montana with power locks and remote locks that came with the van

the remote will work fine to lock and unlcok the doors but if you hit the buttons on the van they dont work. The one on the driver side does nonthin when you press it the one on the passanger will lock but not unlock..

can anyone tell me where to start... I pulled one lock switch out from my fathere new van and tryed it but no go..

Could the wiring be bessed up i found the modular for the remote under the dash by the defrost vent but cant find the modular for the locks it's self

You say you found the module for the remote. Does this mean that the remote is aftermarket?

It could possible be that a harness came undone somewhere.

The power door locks are controlled via the BCM. It is located above the passenger's kick panel. There is a light blue (lock) and white (unlock) wire in the the larger of the two plugs going into it. They are in cavities A6 and A7. These are the input wires to the BCM from the door lock switches in the the front doors. Check to see if they are actually intact and sending a ground pulse to the BCM when the switches are used. If not, check for broken wires.
