I am installing an aftermarket Clifford Matrix 2 alarm on my 1999 Cavalier Z24. It has stock keyless entry for the door locks and the trunk. I don't know what wire to hook the alarm up to to pop open the trunk. I also don't know where the wire is located. Could someone help me out? Thanks.

Thanks profuse007! That's exactly what I needed! I will try and wire it up first thing tomorrow.

Okay, I hooked it up that way, and it didn't work. I looked in the Clifford book and found a diagram where the 87 and 30 are switched. Also, where does the 87a wire go?

disconnect pin 85 and test to make sure that the relay works by jumping a wire from 85 to ground temporarily. This should engage the trunk release. If this doesn't, then check to make sure that you have constant power at pin 87. The diagram given is correct and 87a doesn't got to anything. 87 and 30 are reversible so either way it will work.

are you holding the trunk pop button for 1.5 seconds?

Hey, thanks for the 1.5 second thing. It helps to read the manual! Works great :-)

that's okay, i installed an alarm w/ trunk pop on my sisters car and tried to show her how to do everything but was cut short because she thought i was just being a smarta$$ ("I know how to work a freaking alarm" she says.) anyway, she called me the next day complaining that the trunk wouldn't open. well....you get the point
