Doing an install in 03 Yukon.. Have everything but the remote start done because of the passkey.. I can't figure out how the new ones work.  It looks like the same way the 00-02 were with the ORANGE / Black and the Yellow and the resistor but I can't get my meter to show any resistance between the two after cutting the yellow (on the key side of course) in the crank position.  And of course, none of my manufacture tech lines have any info on 03.

If ANYONE has done an 03 yukon remote start, please email me or call me at 225-343-1542.. Ask for George. this is work, between 9 and 6 central

Thanks

By the way, this thing looks a lot like the Trailblazers and the Envoys.. Doorlocks are a pain in the ass.. at least the front doors.. lol

All my information is for the 2002 Yukon and it says that it's a Passlock type system, not Passkey. All I can say is make sure you use a learning bypass module that will learn with the temperature variations that will change the resistor values.

The '03 Yukon has Passlock II and the big twist on these is that there are 2 sets of BLACK/ orange and yellow wires coming from the ignition switch. If you look rigt at the ignition switch, you should be able to see where the 2 pairs of wires are coming out. Just test them and one of the pairs will show resistance. Oh, you're right about the doorlocks, they are databus doorlocks  so right now, it requires a bunch of relays until someone comes out with an interface. And, no, the trailblazer interfaces won't work :]

I saw some more yellow wires that were the same gauge as the ORANGE / black.. I didn't see another ORANGE / black.. the yellow one I cut and the truck didn't start.. figured I had the right one.. will look closer at the next one when I get another at the shop.. the guy is just gonig to come back after baseball season.. he plays for montreal expos..

Oh and a hint for anyone that gets locked out of by the passlock II system. to enable the ignition again,  turn the key to the run position and leave on for 10 or 15 minutes.. the passlock light will go off and then start normally.. guess how I figured that out.. no help from Gerry Lane GMC in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, that's for sure.. they wanted to have the remote start pulled out, towed to their shop and then $60 hour labor.  told them that wasn't going to happen..

later.. George
