I installed a prestige AP555lra remote start keyless entry in a 97 passat on friday. The customer said that when he remote starts the vehicle with the doors locked it sets off the OEM alarm. When he unlocks the doors then remote starts it, it works fine. Knowing that on these vehicles that the alarm is only active when you lock the door by the key and the alarm disarms when the vehicle is unlocked by the key. Is there any way to bypass the OEM alarm during remote start or is he limited to what he can do buy having to unlock the doors then remote starting the unit.

Does this happen when he manually Locks the doors or with the Remote?
Is this a Passat GL?

Both when he manually locks them and remote locks them. Either way the led indicator appears next to the lock nob on the door skin.

Does your AP555 have Factory Dis-Arm wire? And Auto Lock when Remote Start? If so U could wire Relay to Unlock doors BEFORE Remote Start and doors will Lock when Remote Start cycles
