I measured my system when the car is locked and sitting and it draws about 30mA. I just installed a proximity sensor and measured the current and it fluctuated between 0.04 and 0.05 on my meter, so about 45mA. Any ideas how long my car could sit without having to jump my car?

lots of other things to consider but on a new never drained battery i'd say about 10 days or so.....

45 milliamps really isnt much in the way of a parasitic drain....

of course, once the battery has been drained once or twice that 10 days may drop down to 2 or 3....

Anything over 50 mA is considered parasitic. I wouldn't worry about it.

Ok, thanks. I'm just sort of curious the average parasitic drain for cars and what people have been working with. I don't let me car sit for more than a few days without disconnecting the battery so I should be fine. I also have a Yellow top battery which should help me as well. Thanks for the input!
