I installed my compustar alarm system but when I tried to program the remote it would not work. I believe that the alarm is installed properly, learining up the tack wire made it chirp which means it worked, and when I start the car I can put it in reserved mode (take out the key and the car keeps running for two minutes). When I got the antenna it came in two parts, the antenna wire was seperated from the module so I thought you just put the two together.
Im not sure If I missed somthing installing the alarm or if its a problem with the remote or antenna or what is going on.
thx
If the remote control transmits and the CPU receives the transmission and completes the command thent he remote control works properly. What is the Compu-Star not doing that you want it to do ?

Im trying to get the CPU and remote to communicate. Manual says turn on and off the ignition 5 times then put in the battery on the remote to get the remote to learn the CPU. The book says that when you turn on the ignition you should hear a relay clicking but I don't hear that happening nor do I hear a double clicking after I put in the battery.
By the way the compustar model # is 2WSS
thx
When you toggle the ignition you have a window of about 5 seconds to do this. Once this window of time elapses your SOL for programming. Make sure that you have everything ready to go when you go through with the programming.

I have tried installing the batt within the window and it still doesn't work. I was just wondering what the book means about listening for a click?
Anyway, as far as I can tell the alarm is installed properly, the only things connected are the main harnes to the ignition, the door pin switches, the dome light and the siren.
I was also wondering about the main harness, both power inputs goto power, the starter relay get soldered inline with the starter wire, the ignition line get soldered to the ignition wire, the accessory to the acessory, park light to park light, and ground to gound. The only wire I have to cut is the starter right??
thx again
Is the primary ignition wire that you are tapping into the right one ? Test to be sure ... assume nothing from wiring diagrams.

I solved the problem, Apparently I was not turning the ignition on and off fast enough.
everything works now except the park lights, they were working before but are not now. Im gonna test a few wires and see what I come up with. I assume that since the parklight is controlled by a relay that I do not have to worry about isolating the wire with a diode, sence when the lights are turned on 12 is applied back to the alarm through the park light wire. Right??
thx
