I'm working on a 97 camaro that has a factory body control module, factory power locks and an aftermarket alarm added on. The problem I'm having is that when you shut the doors and wait until the courtesy lights go out, the doors will not unlock with the door switches, or the aftermarket transmitters. If you leave the doors (either door) open, everything works fine. The lock function works all the time. I've already replaced the BCM with no luck. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance.
Unlock on your car requires a 5 wire: Hope this helps!
CHEVROLET, CAMARO, 1997, Power Unlock The tan will unlock the drivers door and the gray/black will unlock the passenger door. Wire each as a 5-wire system with separate relays. See direct fax document #1052. |

Do it right the first time
ALSO:
Due To Accessory Power Loss At The Body Control Module (BCM) Power Door Locks Will Become Inoperable 35 Seconds After Last Door Is Closed Upon Exiting The Vehicle. The BCM Will Remain Without Power Until Either Door Is Opened Which "Wakes Up" The BCM. This Situation Can Be Resolved Simply By Sending A Negative Pulse To The GRAY/BLACK Driver Door Trigger Input Wire In The 32 Pin Blue Connector At The BCM At The Same Time As The ORANGE / BLACK Unlock Wire. . *** OEM Arm Not Known At This Time. OEM Alarm Must See Correct Resistor Across VATS Wires And 12 VDC (+) On PINK Ignition Wire Within 8 Seconds Of Opening Door To Disarm Alarm.
