Subject: Look for DEI Techsoft Programmer Update

I have an old version of the DEI Techsoft Programmer (basically the 998T Bitwriter but rather software used on a computer via a DEI interface to the alarm).  I am looking for the latest software update release for this.  If anyone can help me out let me know.

Thanks

Jason

Well even if it isn't supported anymore someone must know (and hopefully have) the most current version.  Mine is like V2.32 and works only in DOS.  I would imagine there is something newer than this.

Thanks

DEI did away with the techsoft and went to directwire, on the directechs website, you have to have a sign in to get it , and to my knowledge you cant download it.

i think hes talking about the software to his bitwriter.

like i said, the best thing is to call DEI for firmware software update.

He is talking about the computer program uses a serial port to do the programming. Not the bitwriter.

Directed is no longer supporting the software version of the bitwriter, 998t is the only thing they're upgrading the software on via replacement IC chip.

jmr964,  I would love to get a copy on the software.  Since Directed isn't supporting it anymore, they shouldn't care if we share.  I'm just getting around to installing an alarm I bought many years ago and the software would make the setup much easier.  Also,  do you have any spec on the 996t.  Is it just straight serial into the brain?  Any pics of the 996t?
