in a 2000 chevy impala when removing the drivers seat will the side airbag that is located in seat go off?

No they wont go off if you  disconnect the battery before you remove the seat Plug the seat back in and then reconnect the battery and you will be fine

would it work if i diconected battery, un hooked seat, and reconnected battery in order to test wires and hook up remote start, then diconeccted battery, and reconect seat, than reconect battery.

listen as long as you disconent negative side of batteryou will have no problem with airbags. you can reconect the battery without seat in to check the settings and stuff for remote start or alarms just like i said disconect negative side of bat
