Hello, I bought my 99' grand prix used and the owner had already had a bulldog deluxe model remote starter put in. The problem is whoever installed it didn't bypass the factory anti-theft system, so unless i remotely unlock the doors first before hitting start, the remote stater is useless. So after I learned i needed a bypass module i went to bulldog security website and got the correct bypass module, Model #791. The instructions for it are somewhat confusing, and I heard that a lot of people have had nothing but trouble with bulldog bypass modules, and that I should get a DEI 555L, but i figured since i already have this module i'd try to get it to work. Now the first problem i had when hooking it up was finding what wire i needed to cut in two to hook the module in between. I know there's two ignition wires, White and Pink, but which, if either, of those do i cut? Has anyone had an experience with this bypass module and could tell me what I need to hook up where, cuz the only thing I could figure out from their instructions was what wire to hook the ground up to,lol. Any information at all would be great thanks.

If you are using #791 with an extra Coded Key U only have to hook up 3 wires and put loop around Ignition Key Cylinder. Red (+) 12Volt Constant,
Orange (-) to Ground and White (-) to Negative trigger while engine is running
Be sure U have the Proper #791 for your Remote Start .
Note:
I have installed many Bulldog Components (more than I care to remember)
They are O.K. and I haven't had that many bad ones.
Are U sure Bulldog didn't have a programmable Module (No Key)for your car? ------------- MO

I know i don't need a key to put in the bypass module because none of the keys I have, have the chip on them for the ignition. So I know it's not a transponder system but I wasn't sure exactly which instructions to follow in the manual so i just tried the first one, Passkey (VATS), I hooked everything up right, or so i thought and i almost had it working but the module never did learn the right resistor code, it just kept clicking. But I must have touched a wrong wire to something because after i was done I realized something wasn't right, my speedometer needle was pegged out off the scale for some reason! I don't know what i did, and i wasn't sure what to do about it so i had to remove the whole instrument panel, unscrew it and remove the glass and manually move the needle back to 0. It stills works after I did that but I have no idea what I could have possibly done to cause that, lol. Anyways I gave up on the whole thing and ordered the DEI 555L module. I hope that will go in easier than this did. I still can't figure out the whole speedometer needle thing tho. Any ideas?
