I have a small problem with a crimestopper 2006 and the remote start.  I purchased a TATA and have it hooked up the way I think it should be and the truck will start with remote but dies 2 seconds later.  I think it is related to the TATA as if I put the key anywhere near the stearing column it works just fine.  I am curious if there could be a special technique to installing the TATA or if it may be bad.  I have the black wire from the TATA hooked up to the orange wire off the 2006 and the red to constant power.

Not familiar with the acronym TATA ?? Do you have more details about this TATA other than what you have written ?

The TATA is the transponder that make the vehicle think the key is in the ignition.

do you have the antenna ring up around the key cylinder and a properly codoed key inside the "tata" . also make sure you dont have another key in the ignition , because if it see's 2 keys at the same time it will also shutdown as well.

thanks for the help.  I simply went in and moved the ring out further on the ignition cylinder and voila.  I still have one more issue which is that the service 4WD light comes on after remote start.  I assume this is an ignition wire issue but have not figured out which one.  The wiring diagrams from this sight call out a red wire as an 2nd ignition wire but it has constant power.  I also have probed the other so called accessory/ignition wires with 12 volts after the remote start and the light stays on.

The second ignition is a RED / WHITE wire ( 14 gauge in size )
