I bought a 98 Eclipse GS with an older Alpine alarm installed... It was causing a parasitic drain, so I removed the alarm completely. Re-soldered all wires I knew what they went to, doors lock and roll down.
The car came with a keypad for OEM keyless, I popped in a new battery and it does not function.
What do you installers do to disable the OEM keyless systems when you install alarms on this electrical system?
Thanks for any info!

Left over wires
1. black, that grounds to chasis close to fuse box
2. RED / green (trunk pin)
3. BROWN / white (door lock)
4. brown (door unlock)
The doors do lock and unlock, so I am not sure what up with extra wires #3&4?
I searched all around under the dash and didn't find a mate for these wires so I just tucked them under for now.

We don't disable OEM keyless. We ( speaking for myself here ) piggyback the OEM wires with the aftermarket harness wires. If the keyless is not functioning, use your DMM to see why there is no power going to your door locks. Have you tested to see if the fuse is blown or if the wire going from the car to the door locks have continuity ? Check these out first and post your results.

Well, the door locks work with the built in door lock button. Just not with keyless remote. I think the brain for oem keyless is behind the glovebox, so i will check that out and do some tracing, I will let you know what I find.

Can anyone vertify that the 2nd gen mitsubishi eclipse (95-99) with the keyless option has the keyless brain box located behind the glovebox? That it was I was told, I removed the glovebox and there is a white harness with 8 pins installed in it, just hanging there.. like the brain was unplugged and removed...
Thanks
