HEy guys,

I have a 1996 Mustang GT and I installed the alarm except for the power locks.
The wiring diagrams say that I have a "3 wire positive" system in the car. Only problem is that my alarm (Omega K9 Classic) uses a negative output on the door locks.
I tried using the double relay diagram that I saw here and all I do is blow the fuse on the alarms power supply, which tells me that I'm throwing current in the wrong direction. Do I need to use diodes anywhere? Or is some of my information wrong!? I could really use the help.

THanks.

Disclaimer-- I don't know the '96 Mustangs at all. Only Mustang I've ever worked on was a '90 (which had five-wire door locks).

According to the Vehicle Information Database here, a '95-'97 Mustang has negative door locks, which are the easiest in the world to hook up. Try taking a fuse holder w/ a small amp fuse in it, and connect the pink / YELLOW wire to ground. If the doors lock, hook that wire to your alarms negative lock wire. Same w/ the pink/green wire and unlocking. (Both wires are in the driver's kick, according to the above link.)

FWIW, if you're using the 3 wire positive diagram here, then you shouldn't be blowing fuses on the alarm's power supply (no matter what the door lock wiring really is)-- you might want to check which legs of your relay are hooked up where.
