96 S-10 p/u remote start prob

ok after installing my remote start keyless entry alarm system i check everything before i finalized the install and put everything in place, the remote start starts the car ,but after running for about 10 seconds it sounds like the starter is tring to reingage and it makes a loud chiping sound i recheck all the wiring and reset the tach learning mode thinging this will help and it still does the same thing ....

and i also noticed that my radio will come on during remote start but not my fam blower for my head or a/c this is one of the reasons for having remote start anyone able to help me in this / thanks in advance ......

What brand/model remote starter are you installing?

If there is a wire on the remote start harness that connects to the ignition in additon to the heavy guage Ignition 1 output then double check the connection. If the wire does not see the voltage after the vehicle is running then it will think the start attempt failed and try to start again which re-engages the starter.

The accesory wire that you used does not catch the blower motor. You may have seen several gray / YELLOW wires. Move to a different one and it should energize the heater/blower controls. The radio won't work but you shouldn't need it on while remote started anyway.

sorry it's a 96 s-10 p/u with extend cab the starter is a pro start combo i have tripple checked all the wiring and i have even used a jumper to check all the acc wire to see what the activate .

the tach wire is correct i have checked it at the coil and their are 2.4 volts @ idle and it increases when i give it throttle ..

How many IGNITION wires did you connect to, did you use an Ignition 2?

IGNITION 1    PINK (+)    IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
IGNITION 2    PINK/WHITE (+)     (95-96)
ACC/HEATER    ORANGE (+)

This could be why the blower isn't powering.

yes i used all of them i did notice when i was testing that i have a RED / white wire that come on in the acc mode also

This Q&A came from the Bulldog Security FAQ page and it looks just like the problem your having. Of course your system has different wire colors but that's what made me think that one of the wires was not connected to right place.

Q: When remotely starting my vehicle, after approximately ten seconds, the starter re-engages and grinds against the flywheel. What causes this?

A: If the alternator is not putting out 13 to 14 volts DC, as needed, the system will not denote an increase in voltage and regrind the starter. To solve this, make sure you have the accessory wire (WHITE WITH BLACK STRIPE WIRE) from the relay pack connected to all proper accessory wires in the ignition switch harness.

So other than that, I hope someone else can give you another idea to try. Hope you figure it out.

I had this happen to me once when I had 2 Ignition wires. I had the Ignition 1 output from the remote starter hooked up to the Ignition 2 wire on the vehicle and vice-versa. I didn't think it made a difference as long as they were both hooked up. But after having starting issue the tech support guys asked how I had them hooked up and they were in fact reversed. The Ignition 1 apparently senses the 13 volts the alternator puts out.
