I just finished installing an AstroStart 803 remote starter in my 1997 Pontiac GrandAm GT. Also installed the DEI 555L. I double checked all the wiring, everything work fine BUT the THEFT SYS light stays lit all the time.
Remote start work, continuous mode works, everything seems to work fine, just this light stays on.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advace.

When the 555L PASS 1 is activated in RS it switches from Vehicle to 555L, If U R sure the 555L is ONLY activated in RS and NOT with Key, then I would say U have put a code into BCM  I think the only way it can be cleared is with Handheld (Dealer)

Varify *all* soldered connections to and from the 555L to the Passlock system.

The following wires should be currently connected, please varify that it is done.

There are 3 cables from the passlock key cylinder. Only two of the three are connected, and one of them is actually cut open.

Black ground referrence from passlock system to 555L black ground input.

Yellow (black)resistance from passlock to 555L Yellow wire.

The other end of that wire which comes out of the IPC connects to the 555L black / yellow.

The white (black / white) is not used. From the Passlock system.

Yes, I double checked again to be sure, the passlock is wired exactly like the DEI manual says. I cut the YELLOW wire and hooked the YELLOW/BLACK from passlock to YELLOW on the IPC side, then hooked the YELLOW from passlock to YELLOW key cylinder side. BLACK input from passlock is connected to BLACK reference wir on IPC without cutting it. I did not touch the WHITE/ black on the IPC. I will keep checking for an open circuit in all the wires though.

And, I shall ask only one question that no one seems to have asked yet. On the 555L, do you have the purple wire hooked up to a negative start wire? As far as I know, there is no negative start wire on the Autostart products. Use a relay. Trigger the purple wire on the 555L with a ground during start. This should make your light go away.

Happy Saturday!

Good Question!! I'll double check that on Sunday.
I have to change a relay that seem to be arching anyway.

And the R/S is not an AUTOSTART.
It's a ASTROSTART from AstroFlex.
