I just bought a used car with a Viper alarm (I think it's a 300 but I'm not really sure yet to be honest)
I don't really care for viper security but I do like the keyless entry feature so I guess I'll keep the Viper for now.
Anyway, I would like to program it to "silent mode" permanently. In the manual I downloaded from DEI's website they tell you "If you want the arm/disarm chirps turned off permanently, your dealer can do this for you."
Does anyone know how to turn off the arm/disarm chirps? I really don't want to go to the dealer.
Thanks
Jake

I think this can only be deleted with the DEI PC Interface or BitWriter if it doesn't show Chirp Off in your manual ------------- MO

Thanks Mo. So there may be a legitimate reason for DEI to send someone to the dealer to have this option changed.
Bummer, I don't like paying people to work on my car.

I'm NOT exactly sure on yours, but some of the DEI units R like that

I would ask you to try this first.
1. Open the door
2. Turn the ignition on-off
3. Press your Valet button within 15 seconds.
4. Pres the Valet button (2) times, then press it a third time and hold.
5. Once you hear (2) chirps the silent mode will be engaged.

You said you don't like the alarm and just need keyless and dont want to hear the chirps. If you want the chirps disabled permanently just go under the hood and snip the red wire going to the siren. No dealer required.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll try it tomorrow first thing.
The main reason I don't like my viper is because every parrot in town and maybe a few mocking birds have learned the viper song....
