First let me say, Great web site. I just found you guys yesterday and this is by far the best installer web site I have ever seen. Ok, heres the question: I am installing a Code Alarm Power Elite 7400 in my 1995 Blazer wich had a TRW keyless entry. I did find an old post that referred to the drivers door lock not working after the keyless was removed. But what is the fix for this? Can I just use a couple of relays to reverse the polarity for the lock motor on this door only? I did try to use both the TRW keyless and the alarm but they end up shorting each other out. Also where can I find a Pin switch to install? Thanks in advance

Yes. Only the driver side will not lock. I can get it to unlock with the alarm remote but that is the only function that works for that particular lock.

Whell, I tried every thing I could come up with last night. Tonight I am going to run new wires directly to the motor, cause connecting the motor directly works fine. The thing I dont understand is how it works with the keyless and not with the alarm. And why the switch doesnt lock the driver door only. There must be something buried in the dash that I cant find. Thanks for your help.

A lot of cars won't lock the driver's door w/ the door open (for "convenience" reasons).

Ok, now I am really confused and pissed off. I tried to find the actuall wires that go only to the drivers door lock motor. First in the drivers side kick panel I found the wires that are the same color. These are not the wires that go to the lock. Then after getting all frustrated I cut the wires right at the motor, in the door. Tan and Grey. Back inside I cut the wire just after it comes into the cabin. Ran a hot wire to it and checked power to ground back at the motor where I cut the wires. The Tan wire is verified. The grey when +12v is applied unlocks the passenger side door only. WTF??? Maybe I am over analizing or under analizing, but damn, Im a controls engineer and have been for several years with some electronics back ground and this makes no f-n sense. What drives the motor? There are also 4 black wires one of which had a white stripe on it. What are those for? They do not appear in the cabin. Is there another relay in the door? BTW when I connect the alarm with the standard 3 wire or 5 wire all of the other doors work the same. As well they work like they are supposed to, but not the drivers door. I am going to break something very soon>:{

with out the twr, id say grab an aftermarket doorlock actuator and grab a 451m relay for a new keyless entry/alarm system.

Well, I retested every thing last night. Off the switch the L Blue and White wires act like they are supposed to. I know that connecting power and ground to the Tan and Grey wires right at the motor triggers the lock like they are supposed to. So I guess at this point the next attempt will be to take all my connections inside the door. For the driver door lock and switch anyways. I think if this doesnt work Im gonna just push it out of the garage and lite it on fire.

I have a 96 Blazer. I found the lock wires at the module by the firewall. It was the keyless entry module. When you take down the plastic cover under the dash, it's the black box by the emergency brake. If you disconnect the brain you will not get any action on the locks. I just tapped into the wires there and left the module in tact.

I put the keyless back in. Now the door locks work fine. No dual stage unlock though. Now I cant use the remote start cause it thinks there is an open door switch. I know ther isnt cause the dome light would stay on if there were. So now the Blazer in blazin in the drive way. Im just gonna call the insurance company in the morning and let them know the truck is burnt to a crisp.

It works! So, heres what I have learned. 1) Theres majic in that TRW keyless. 2)No one knows what that majic is or what it does. 3)You cant use 2 stage unlock if you were cursed with the TRW keyless. 4)The hood pin swtich only needs to be grounded to program the tach. That was my mistake and also why the remote start wouldnt work. Thanks everyone for your help. PS. The next project is putting the 900 watt 15 speaker system in, so look for that post in the car audio section. Pioneer 9200 head, JL 300 watt 4 channel, MTX 225HO, JL XR 6.5CSI, XR4 CX, VR5.25CS, TR3.5 and 3 JL 12W6 v1. This should go much more smoothly since that is my forte.
