I am new to this sight and have already searched for this problem.  I found one thread that was the same problem but the wires were different becuase it had three ignition wires and my 95 chevy tahoe only has two ignition wires (pink and pink/white).  Everything else was wired up just like in the wiring info on this site and the manual with the starter.  If it helps the starter is an Ultrastart U-1355A.  The starter starts the vehicle fine but I only have maybe one gear.  Once the starter is disconnected the truck runs fine.  It dosen't matter wether you start the truck with the remote or with the key it still does the same thing.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You must power the 2nd IGN wire ( PINK/WHITE or WHITE ). How did you hook up the 2nd IGN ? Through a relay ? Make sure that the 2nd IGN wire is getting 12+ during the remote start sequence.

WHITE Wire Must Be Powered For Remote Start Applications Or Transmission Will Not Shift Properly And "Check Engine" Light Will Stay On.

However since the truck works fine when the RS is disconnected it is reasonable to assume that it is the RS causing the problem. Try powering up the second accessory wire as well which is brown, kinda strange though since I have never had this problem with these vehicles before. As was previously stated, it is imperitive that the second ignition is powered up properly as well.

I figured it out guys, thanks.  The second ignition wire was not getting power becuase the jumpers inside the unit for that wire had fallen off while I was installing it.  It works find now. But thanks for the quick responses.
