Subject: 95 Mustang dome wire location

I am working on my daughters 95 Mustang Convertible. I am installing a Crime Guard 745i2 with the optional remtoe start and 2 window modules, used to operate all four windows. This site and the instructions from Crutchfield, indicate that the dome switch wire is located in the gray 12 pin connector located in the drivers kick panel. And the wire is either black / blue or a gray wire, depending if the car has factory remote door locks, and I don't know if it does, we bought it used and only got one set of keys. Well, I found the gray 12 pin connector, but there is no BLACK/ blue wire or gray wire. I probed all 12 wires while working the door switch, and could not find any differances on my meter. Where to from here? Please help. Thanks, Tom

Does your convertable have Dome Lites or any inside lites? (under dash, console, etc)

Well now somehow I screwed up my user account and I can login but can't do anything. So I created another account to post a reply to your (mo12v) question. Ok... the Convertible Mustang has lights in the rear view mirror, what I would call map lights. But they do come on when the door is opened, and they do work off of the headlight switch, and they also have there own switch on each of the two lights on the mirror. There are no other lights in the interior of the car. Thanks, Tom

I thought the Convertable Mustangs had only the Mirror lites and U might want to look at the harness going to Mirror to verify wire. Sorry I am not at shop now, but will look tommorrow, unless someone else has the info

mo12v... thanks! Also, is it possible to hook to the light under the hood and trunk, for use as sensors, instead of using the supplied pin switch. If so, how and where would I do this? Thanks again! Tom

The wiring you are referring to applies to the hard top. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes you can do this, but you will have to verify the lights polarity, and diode isolate it. If you need a relay schematic for changing the polarity I will provide one.

U could use the lites in those areas as long as you have the proper input + or - trigger or if U have current sensing U would accomplish the same thing. As long as the lites work. I like running my own Pin switches

Ok... I'll install the pin switches for the trucnk and hood. If anyone has the proper schematic for the Convertible Mustang, I would aprreciate it very much. Thanks, Tom

mo12v, Thanks for the info... it looks like the same data I received from the cd I bought on EBAY. But the gray 12 pin connector in the drivers kick panel, does not have a BLACK/ blue wire or a gray. I probed all twelve wires while working the drives door pin, and found no differance in my meter. I had the meter set for dc current... is this correct? Or? Tom
