85 - It  always +12V
30 - It  Always 0V

I want  this relay for trunk release which is:

The 85 connect to (-) 200mA trunk release

The 30 connect to trunk wire WHITE/ BLACK of the 91 Legend Positive Sys.

I Supect my above relay is not working correctly

Could somebody please verify it

Thank You

Make sure U have 12 volts constant at Pin 87 & 86

Pin 30 to Trunk Switch wire
Pin 85 to Trunk output wire from RS unit
Pin 87 & 86 to 12 volt + constant

Yes

I got everything right, ( I even change a different relay ) , but I still don't see pulse on pin 30

You obviously are missing one of the three basic elements to make the relay work.

1. Proper polarity

2. Power & Ground

3. Trigger output

What should we see on the output of the alarm module?

you can use the ground from the alarm to see if it will trip the trunk release......if it does, the the ground from the alarm is not strong enough or not working at all.......

How long R U pressing on your Trunk Remote button??  Some alarms / RS U have to press and hold for 2 to 3 seconds before wire will have output

On your Remote:
When you press Trunk Release:
How long to you hold button down?

Some alars require you to hold button down for 2 to 3 seconds to open trunk

Have you checked to see if you get 200 to 500 MA from the Modules Trunk wire?

I am reading your post and it looks kinda funny to me. You say at first you have your 85 going 12v+ then later you say it is set up as your -200 ma trunk trigger

I could be reading it wrong but this is how the relay should be setup

85 12v+ constant
86 -200ma trunk in from alarm
87 to trunk
30 12v+ constant

Again if it is setup like this please forgive me for not seeing it

are you saying the trunk wire as in the trunk wire going to the solenoid in the trunk? or the trunk wire that comes off of the module.

If it is the one coming off of the module, then you have something wired up wrong.

If it is the line coming off of the relay going to the trunk you either have a bad solenoid in the trunk or the wrong wire hooked up to it. make sure it is the correct wire.

SPDT Relays have Armature attached to Pin 30 with a flexable joint.  It is, and since I have been installing,  best to use Pin 87 as the Input for Voltage.

I am sure there are more WHITE/ Black wires also.........
You need to make sure this is the correct wire, That is why it is best to go to switch as posted earlier

U can trigger Relay by grounding Pin 85 to see if it is working.  If not check your wires again for voltage at Pin 86 & 87

I would want to check wire from Module to make sure :
1. is it plugged in to Module
2. Does wire from Module have Negative or Positive Pulse when you press button on Remote
3. Check for break in wire by using Ohm meter (if U have one)

Hi mo12v,

Every time I Press and hold the trunk release bottom ( from remote starter) about 2seconds I saw the voltage go to about +4V spikes from the output of remote starter/alarm module,

In the install manual says (-)200mA Trunk release

Yes I have DMM

R U checking voltage on output wire while it is hooked up to Relay?

U said that the Relay works when U ground Pin 85.............Either U have a defective Module or the wire U R using is NOT the correct one from the Module

No,

Just output voltage from the module.

I have another connection :

Pin 86 &30 ---------To +12V constant

Pin 85 ----------------to trigger

pin 87 -------------to Trunk

Hopefully this work or I have defective module
