Can anyone tell me if I can add a remote starter on a Jetta TDI and if I can is the instalation similar to gas.

Yeah, the 04 TDI isn't too bad to do. Aside from the typical major disassembly involved with doing anything more than a deck in a VW, everything except for tach can be had under the dash and in the driver's door. You will have to give up the valet/service key for immobilizer bypass purposes.... but other than that, a competent shop, looking at 3 hrs or so. How do you find a competent shop? When you ask about a RS in a newer VW and they kinda humm, hah, and seem overly worried and confused, go to a different shop.
