my alarm has a negative output for windows up. the 91 240sx wiring for window up is supposed to be D\green P\RED / white@mainÓ. no mention of polarity. the power windows only get +12V power when ignition is on so i don't see how a negative pulse will cause windows to go up? ------------- 1991 240sx

It won't. It's traditional to use that pulse to activate other things-- for instance, a DEI 530T that will take care of all the motor running and sensing duties, as well as give you auto-up and down on two windows.

Is there anything wrong with rewiring the power windows so they get a constant 12v+?? i hate having to turn the ignition on to operate windows.

ok, so i hook up 12v+ and negative pulse output from alarm to coil on relay which when energized will cause the single pole to pivot on 30 and deliver 12v+ to window module as long as negative pulse is coming from alarm. 85- negative output from alarm 86-12v+ from car 30-window module 87a-nothing 87-12v+ from car ------------- 1991 240sx

I guess i need a separate window module to interface between my power windows and the alarm. not sure how to build that. my passenger power window motor at rest has ground at both terminals.

This will make the windows roll up when you activate the negative output from the alarm...
Put a test light or meter to one of the wires on the window motor and turn the ignition of the car on. Find the one that indicates positive when hitting the switch to make the windows go up. Turn the key off and cut that wire. Then wire up a relay like this:
85- negative output from alarm
86- 12v+ straight to the battery (fused with 40amp fuse)
30 - cut wire (side that runs to the window motor)
87a - cut wire (side that runs to car)
87 - tied to pin 86 (+12V)
This will roll the windows up when you activate the second channel. If you have timed outputs you can set the timer to something like 5 seconds or so. The window motors on the S13 have circuit breakers built in so the timer circuit should work without problems.
However make sure that your negative output isn't the "output when armed" wire. Otherwise you will burn out the motor eventually.
Cleanest way to do windows is to just get a DEI 530T or a Smart window module if you're running a Clifford alarm.

Ok, i see. You break the window motor line so it is no longer ground. I don't know what second channel is. Window up pulse is last procedure of the arming. Thanks for your help. ------------- 1991 240sx

Yep, this worked. Two relays. One for each motor. Green wire for driver side and RED / white for passenger. Both wires were available on driver door. the main problem i had was that the relay terminals were small tabs and it was hard to connect wires to them. my relays had diodes between 86-85 so luckily i had polarity right. ------------- 1991 240sx

Of course it works... that's how I wired up my sister's S13 cause she was too cheap to buy a window module. I used bosch relay sockets, cause I don't trust spade connectors.

Good stuff:) I'm too cheap to buy the plugs.

how would i do that for a 94 honda civic with power windows? Same way?

do a search of honda power windows and you might find something. i would use plugs with your relays because it is pretty ugly with spade connectors.
