I am new to the group and have searched for an answer to my problem but can't find it.  We  just bought a 98 Lumina with Viper 300+ system. Someone left the key turned to accessory for several days, which drained the battery. When I installed a new battery in order to start the car, the alarms set off. The remote will stop it for a few seconds, then it begins again. When you turn the key, the car will not start, not even crank. The valet switch trick as described in the manual does not work, so the alarm continues to go off. Can anyone help, as I would like to be able to start this car. Saving the alarm system would be nice but not as important. Thank you. Your forum looks great!

Sounds like it just needs to be programmed.  If the battery is good in car, U should be able to didable alarm with valet button.

If need be, cut the siren wire so that you can do the re-programming in silence. Once the unit is fixed, re-attach the wire.

If all else fails, simply pull out the fuse in the alarm system.

That will allow you to start the vehicle.
