Some alarms ask for the oil light in the dash to inhibit remote start. Most alarms ask for the tach or alternator wire. The difference from the 2 in my experience is 1 asks for 6v the other asks for 12v. I was wondering if we can use a relay to convert what an alarm asks for wether be it 12v or 6v. Sorry if I didnt explain this enough thoroughly, Im in a hurry. TIA

Nope, one asks for ac current(tach) and one asks for dc(oil light). You must tag what ever the alarm asks for to install correctly.

Ahhh, I see. There's no way to convert from AC to DC?

Yes, but you would have to either make or purchase a bridge rectifier.

You can make a half wave rectifier with two diodes if you wish.
