I have a 90 Dodge Ram that we just installed a Python 460HP in.  We were installing the power lock setup and keep running into a snag.. After using the the diagrams for relays that DEI had the door locks will lock when the system is armed, a second or 2 passes and they unlock again.  After checking the wiring over and over again the installer and I decided lets try the DEI 451M module and see if that cures the problem.  Still the same thing.  Arm the system and it locks then instantly unlocks.  We checked our wiring and tried hooking the module directly to the battery to make sure it wasnt getting a weird signal when armed. We reprogrammed the alarm to make sure it was set for active locking, not passive and we changed the lock pulse setting from .08 to 3.5 and they still unlock as fast as they lock.  The shop and I are both stumped now.   The truck had a audiovox alarm system in it before with a door lock module and that worked great until the alarm itself went bad and after looking at the way the old one was wired its almost identical.

Is somthing wired weird that we are overlooking?

I have a couple different wire guides for a 90 ram. One shows its a F type system. This is a single wire system. what is the exact model of your truck. May narrow it down. on the audiovox alarm how many wire came out it for the lock/unlock. Shoudl be able to use those wires.

The truck is a 1990 Dodge D-250 LE.  It has factory power locks.  The Audiovox system came with a module that had 7 wires coming out of it.  Ground, Power, 2 wires for lock and 2 for unlock and one that went to the alarm module.  The orange wire was cut and the pink wire cut to hook into the module.  The Audiovox also had somthing in the module that when armed held the door locks in the lock position like you were holding the switch in the lock postion for a moment until the system fully armed.  Same thing when it was unarmed.   This python doesnt do that.

Use what "mo12v" posted. Look to you left under RELAYS and then go to 5 wire reversal at ground. hook it up like that and you should be all set.

On your Python:
Do U just have 3 wires for door locks?

- Lock
- Unlock
+output

If so you will need 2 SPDT Relays to convert to 5 Wire Reversal at Ground
It's not hard to hook up

The wire that came with the alarm is 2 wire,,,lock and unlock.  Right now it has the 451M module in it and it has 3 wires going to the python module....lock unlock and output...blue red and green.   I have been looking at the 5 wire reversal diagram and it makes more sense to me than all the other diagrams I have seen looking into this.   I may be wrong but Im gathering when it locks the unlock wire turns to ground on this system and visa-versa.  The 5 wire system is the only one that looks close to my setup and includes a ground.  To me , and this may also be wrong,  when the alarm is arming and signals the door locks both pink and orange are being energized as + and thats why it locks then unlocks instantly.  I am going to pull the 451 out of there and try the 5 wire system.  I hit up a guy at work about it and he looked at the diagrams for the 451M and the relay diagram I wired it to at first and he said it looks to him like the system HAS to have a ground to work correctly, even though he hasnt installed anything like alarms before.
