I'll be doing a remote start/alarm install on a 1998 Mercury Sable/taurus.  How would I go about making the connections from the alarm to the wires in the car?  Would I just use wire taps or...?

Also, if anyone else has done installs on the newer taurus/sable models would you be able to suggest good locations for mounting the brain/relays and good places to run wire through the firewall?

It's my first time installing an alarm but after installing countless car stereos I'm feeling pretty confident about hooking it all up, I just don't know where to start!

Do it right:
Check, Solder & Tape all connections to be confident.
There is lots of room under dash when you remove knee panel & metal panel

Ok. Yea, I thought soldering would be the best way to go about it.  Glad I know how to solder.  Is that the way most installers do it?

Thanks for all the wiring info!  It is much appreciated.

The connectors, apparently, are not terribly reliable. Professionals solder.
