Hello All,

Just had an AstroStart 4204 remote start installed in my 2001 Cadillac Seville STS. Installer used the Peripheral GMDL-BP module to interface with my factory remote keyless entry and to bypass the Passkey III. The module is successfully locking and unlocking my doors and bypassing the Passkey III, but doesn't appear to be able to trigger the Memory Seat/Mirror functions of the car as it advertises that it does.

Installer has double checked the programming of the module, and even attempted to swap it out with a new one, but to no avail.

Anyone have any experience working with these or similar modules on a Seville STS of a similar year?

Also installer used one of the accessory outputs of the remote start to trigger the rear window defrost (8 minute cycle), but it doesn't appear to heat the mirrors and doesn't lite up the button on the HVAC. He accessed the defrost under the rear seat using a purple wire if I remember correctly. Any other ideas on what might be missing?

Thanks in advance,

Mark
(Alaska)

Ask him how the rear defroster was interfaced, and at what point in the circuit.

Thanks for the quick reply, I will show this to installer.  Do you have any experience with the Peripheral GMDL-DP interface/bypass module?  Should it not be activating the memory seat function thru the databus connection?

thanks,

Mark

Made sure that module was set to Mode 3 (Seville) didn't seem to help.  It's acting like it is working cause of the door locks and trunk release, but still doesn't activate memory seat/mirrors.

Tech support not very helpful.

I know you set the Module to Mode 3, but I think there is another setting for OPTIONS......Do U have insstructions?
I thought U set your Mode # (vehicle) 1st....then Option # next

I would try Tech again, and definitly get the Techs NAME.........

Instructions for options:

1) Domelight Polarity

2) Unlock Mode (unlock drivers/unlock all)

3) Reset

So far I've found that none of the modules control anything but locl/unlock arm/diarm bypass and trunk when applicable. I have not seen one yet the does memory seats, heated seats etc.

Strange since the website specifically says that it will.
