i have a 2001 cavailer i would like to make the horn hunk  the wire they say to go to has 12 volts on it how can get this to work

Supply the Black wire at the steering column with a negitive trigger. If your alarm has a + siren trigger then you will need a relay to switch polarity.

the alarm has a negitive so this will work just hook it  wright to the black  wire that has 12 volts

Unless the negative output of which you speak is designed for horn honk, DON'T use it. If it is for a siren, the out put will be constant not pulsed like you need. A constant horn honk will burn out the horn in short time, not to mention be very annoying. Sirens have their pulse feature built into them. You would have to use a relay and flasher circuit to pulse the horn.
