I've been struggling with this car for days now, I really need some help PLEASE. :(

I'm installing a DEI 561R remote start.  Not my first install, so I know the basics.  The dash lights (ignition) come on but then it just shuts off.  I think all the main connections are correct, I have tested with a meter.  I think the problem is that the Security light is still flashing after the dash lights (ignition) comes on.  When starting by key, that light is turned off as soon as you get to the accessory position.

Can anyone confirm that I must disarm factory security on a 96 Altima?  If "yes", where is this GREEN/ YELLOW disarm wire?!??!!  I have been searching and probing for this wire for probably 8 hours put together, I'm going nuts here.  I know it's supposedly in the driver's kick panel, but, where?  How would I know I found it probing with a meter?  Am I expecting to find 12V when armed or disarmed?

Thank you in advance, appreciate it very much!!!

Hummm, , it may be very possible that you need to get a transponder bypass to trick the car into thinking your key is in the ignition.   I thought nissan started that in 98, , but maybe earlier.

U say that your RS comes on then shuts off>>>>>>
Is that immediatly or does it try to cycle?
If your Key is turned to ON and U try your RS, does it start?

U should get a - (negative) from your DisArm wire when you UNLock the vehicle with the Factory Remotes or (I think) with theDriver Door Cylinder.
Also did U power Cold Start wire?

The Alarm Module should be at the Driver Kick panel

The key doesn't seem to have a transponder, I thought those started later than 96 too, and the DEI notes do not say I need a bypass module.

It turns on the ignition (all dash lights on) and almost immediately shuts off, less than a second later.  Security light is on at that time, as I mentioned, unlike if you were turning the key.

Yes I have cold start hooked up.  If I didn't it would at least try to crank I believe?  But it's there.

I think it has to be the GREEN/ YELLOW disarm that I still need.  I've found about 4 GREEN/ YELLOWs under the dash and around the left side near the door and none of them pulse when you hit unlock.

Thanks for any/all ideas, they make me double check and jog my mind...

Oh, if i have the key in ignition and on Accessory, it behaves the same way. If I have Ignition On with key, remote start does nothing.  Is the 561R too smart for that?  Or would that indicate a wiring problem?

I confirmed that the 96 Altima definitely has starter kill with the factory security, so this is definitely my problem.  Need to find factory disarm wire, very frustrating.  I might try a Nissan service manual tomorrow, hopefully the library has them and they have good wiring diagrams.

Thanks.
