I just had the viper 791xv installed on my camaro and I was wondering what is multi-level security arming?  In the Owner's Guide it says:  press arm once, the siren chirps once and the system is armed, press it agan within five seconds the siren chirps twice followed by a long chirp, zone 2 iz now bypassed.  And it goes till 5.  What I don't underestand is, what do they mean by zone 2, or zone 3 and etc is bypassed.  What does that mean?

Thanks

You'll have to check in your manual, cuase I'm not sure which zone is what, but each zone represents an input to the alarm.  Such as the shock sensor, the door triggers, the hood trigger, etc.  It allows you to bypass one if it has become defective, or say you park in a high construction area, and the noise of the machinery sets off the shock sensor, you can disable it for that arming cycle.  Kinda handy, but seldom used.

If it don't fit, Force it.
If it breaks, You needed a new one anyway!

Zone 2 is the shock sensor, zone 3 is the door trigger. As I understand the term and the intent of the system. It is to allow you to bypass specific zones assuming they are either faulty, or need not be active during that alarm cycle.

Someone please chime in to clarify this, if I am totally off track here.

Correct you are, Teken.  Heres a list of zones from the manual.

ZONE NO. TRIGGER TYPE INPUT DESCRIPTION

1 Multiplexed Input BLUE (H1/6)

2 Multiplexed Shock Sensor Input Mux BLUE wire.

3 Door Trigger GREEN (H1/5) and VIOLET (H1/7).

4 Multiplexed Shock Sensor Mux GREEN wire

5 Ignition Yellow ribbon harness wire

6 Hood Brake Trigger GRAY on the 6-pin shutdown harness.

If it don't fit, Force it.
If it breaks, You needed a new one anyway!
