hello,
i can't use the key to crank and start my car. right now i'm only using the remote to start it.
i'm using compustart alarm/starter. HODL2 and PKH3 module from bypasskit.com
i run into this problem before when installing everything. i fixed it but it come back again.
before when i fix it. i program the HODL2 module then program the PKH3.
when i was installing, i didn't plug in the HODL2. only trying to program the pkh3.
i thought the problem that i solved was that i have to program both at one time.
i'm guessing the HODL2 which interface with the car's system for the disarm/arm and other triggers. and it need to be connected to tell the ECM that the car is disarm. or else the ECM won't let the engine crank by the key.
a week later the problem happen again. it won't crank
when i try turn to crank all the instrument light/dashboard turn off, and the radio turn off.
when i unplug the PKH3, which is a immobilizer bypass module. and remote start it. it won't start. it'll crank but won't start. that mean the module is working.
second time i kept the PKH3 unplug. but put my key into the ignition, turn it to on. and remote start it. it won't crank.
the compustar require you to put the key in after remotestart to drive the car. or else when you step on the brake it'll shut down. that is what happen to me. so i guess it sense the key.
is anyone familiar with the HODL2 and the PKH3 module?
HODL2 programing is easy, just put in the key and the horn honk 2x
PKH3, you have to put the jumper into programming mode turn the key to on. place the jumper back into operational mode. then turn off/remove the key.
can they tell me how the programming order goes?
i can program the modules. just not sure which one come first.
both module seem to be functioning.
please help. thank you

Maybe I missed something, does it have a starter kill on it? Is it hooked up correctly? Maybe the starter kills key side is not connected?

starter kill, do you mean the starter kill in the compustar?
i can autostart the car and turn off the engine all from the remote. so it is wired up correctly
I understand that the car remote starts fine and shuts down as well. But when you try to start the car with the key, it does not crank correct? This could mean that the KEY-SIDE of the starter kill is not connected well. You can test this by putting your meter on the motor side of the kill and try to crank the car. If the keyside of the kill is not connected the kar cannot start. I am not familiar with compustar does it have a built in kill? If your connection is good on the KEY-SIDE and the car still does not crank you might want to wire anexternal kill relay. Again maybe I am misunderstanding your problem.

yes the compustar have a built in starter kill i'm pretty sure it is correct. i'll check it again this weekend. but does anyone have any other idea?
