I have a 1990 Honda Accord EX. I have installed an Alpine SEC-8028 alarm. All is complete but the keyless entry. I just can't seem to grasp the concept of it. I know where the wires are, its finding where they go where I run into the problem. Can someone explain to me the concept of normally open & normally closed. If it will help here is the wiring:

Door Lock BLACK/ White (-) Under carpet below Fuse 2
Door Unlock BLACK/ Red (-)

Alpine SEC-8028
White /Brown ~ Door Lock Common (30)
BROWN / Blue ~ Door Lock N/C (87A)
BROWN / Red ~ Door Lock N/O (87)
GREEN/ Red ~ Door Unlock N/O (87)
WHITE/ Green ~ Door Unlock Common (30)
GREEN/ Blue ~ Door Unlock N/C (87A)

I am pretty good at audio, but this is a little out of my realm of knowledge. Any help will be appreciated.

Hook both the white wires to ground (scrape first! use star washer and good electrical connections!). The /Red wires leave unconnected. Hook the /Blue wires (SEC-8028) to the BLACK/ wires (on the car)-- lock <-> lock, unlock <-> unlock.

N/O == Normally open == the contact on the relay which is not normally connected to common (and becomes connected when the coil is energized).

N/C == Normally closed == the contact on the relay which is normally connected to common (and becomes disconnected when the coil is energized).

In this case, you want the alarm's "locking" signal (energizing the lock relay) to connect the car's door lock (BLACK/ White) to ground-- hence you connect Lock N/O to the car's door lock wire, and the BLACK/ white wire to Lock Common (WHITE/ Brown.

Thanks a lot. works perfect. i did have a problem with the locking though. there was a problem inside the alarm. i opened it and there was a broken circuit that prevented it from locking. i put a small peice of aluminum foil under it to connect it and then covered that with a small perice of electrical tape. I guess its sort of like a band-aid. i couldnt find my soldering iron so that will have to do for now. Thanks again.
