Just curious to know if anyone knows the location to pick up tach signal on this vehicle. Tech calls for it to be at the coil, but this one is a newer DIS system (coil per cylinder). Would Pickinig tach up off the Odd colored wire in the injector be alright?

Was giving somone help in another forum when this post was made: "Do NOT use an injector wire. Most injectors are ground switching, meaning there's constantly 12V and it gives it a ground to fire the injector. When you tap into the ground side of the injector any screw up or wire rubbing through will hang that injector wide open, flooding the cylinder. In worst case, you'll hydrolock the cylinder and bend a rod. Go to the wire it tells you to in the ignition system, worst you can do there is encounter a misfire."

I and other installers(all mecp certified) I work with have used an injector plenty of times on various vehicles for Remote start. Never once had a problem. Maybe if the connection wasn't soldered and taped or if there were and strands of wire poking through, something like that would occur. Anyway, just looking for other professionals opinioins.

I have NEVER had to worry about that situation happening seeing that I ensure proper wrapping of the connections and if the customer wants it I even silicone the connection to makeit water proof. The 4.7L motor has a separate coil for each cylinder.  Go to any coil and use any wire that is NOT dk. GREEN/ orange.  On the 4.0L motor use any of the tan/stripe wires at the coil pack, or go to one of the fuel injector and use the wire that is NOT dk. GREEN/ orange.
