Hi,
I recently purchased ProStart Remote starter CT-3100. Was able to do most of the installation successfully in my 2002 Corolla. The door lock/ unlock just fine. But when I press the second button to start the car, it cranks the starter but the engine does not start. Any clue what could have gone wrong? I have tried reseting to factory default, tried Auto Tach programming.
Thanks in advance for your efforts.
Riyaz
When you went to program the tach, did you get a confirmation that it was programmed proplery ? Also, what does it do when it attempts to start ? Does is crank and then die or does it run for a bit then die ?

Yes I did get confirmation like the manual mentioned. The parking light went off once and came back on. I went ahead to save the settings. I then tried the remote start. It cranks for over a minute but the engine does not fire.
go to the underhood and make sure that you went to the #1 injector it's the odd colour (yellow) and solder to that wire then try to re=learn, let me know.
I was able to download wiring connection for corolla 2002 from Prostart(www.AutoStart.ca/Prostart)
here is the link:

here it indicates that the Tach wire can be connected to Black wire in diagnostic connector
Tachometer | Black | in diagnostic connector |
I have tried that with no luck.
I will try connecting to injector #1 wire as you mentioned.
Thanks
Hi,
I tried connecting to the yellow wire on injector #1 and re-learn tach. The programming completed successfully. However, I am still facing the same problem. Engine cranks for about a minute and does not fire.
What else could be the cause?
Thanks
make sure both ignitions are power up and if you installed a hood pin make sure it's not grounding out during crank to test this wire if u connected it disconnect it for a minute make sure the wire u disconnect doesn't touch ground a try to start it then.see what happens..
