I want to hook up the hatch open wire (pin B4, gray 24 pin plug at BCM) on my 2004 Vue to my DEI 554R. The owners manual says there is an icon on the remote (zone 4 trunk/hatch) but the install manual is very vague about this input (H1/6 Blue muliplexed input). Will I need anything, like a diode or maybe a sensor of some sort, to make the trunk pin interact with the "trunk trigger / zone 4" on the alarm?

Without the trunk/hatch being hooked up, the alarm keeps arming on my wife (when no other doors are open) while she is unloading groceries and stuff. It doesnt bother me none but it really agrivates her.

I love sleeping in my warm bed...please help!

If the hood is already attached to this wire then you need to place a diode in series to the circuit. If that zone is not being used by any other(s) then simply wire it in to the zone 4 input.

Also... turn off the passive arming if you do not want it to arm on its own.
