Hi. I have purchased an RS-900 VII and a JP-LK-TB1 to install in a friend's 2001 Jeep Cherokee. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with the combination of these two units or with the JP-LK-TB1 in any Jeeps. If anyone has had any issues before, it would be a great help to know about them before I start this install. The Jeep does not have the window roll-up feature, so I don't need to worry about that not working correctly. Thanks in advance. Jim

Hi. Another question about these data bus interfaces such as this one and the JDL-PK. Looking at the wiring diagram for the JDL-PK it looks like the only wire that the remote start connects to the JDL-PK with is the (-) while running. I hook up the outputs to the JDL-PK (lock/unlock, horn) to the wiring chassis of the jeep? OR is it that everything except the (+)12V constant and ground get connected to the corresponding wires on the remote start? Thanks.

Re-reading my post, the question did not seem clear. So to make the question a little more clear, when I connect the remote starter and the databus module, do the lock/unlock from the remote start go to the vehicle wiring harness or the databus module?

If U R using.....JP-LK-TB1 or JDL-PK Yes .......U would connect your Door Lock / UNLock wires from your RS to your DATABuss Interface & NOT the vehicle Door Locks combination module that incorporates a doorlock and an alarm databus interface with a transponder bypass ------------- MO

MO, thank you. That was the question I had. So the only wires ON THE COMBINATION MODULE that actually get connected to the vehicle wiring harness are the: Data Output +12 constant ground and the rest get connected to the related REMOTE STARTER wires. Correct?

As long as U have the wiring items from the RS that will work with your vehicle, as described in the DATABuss Interface install manual

I have not actually received the items yet, but have been looking around online for the manuals. I found the install and users manuals for the RS900VII on the Crimestopper web site, but could not find anything for the JP-LK-TB1 (the item I have ordered). Also, for the JDL-PK, all I have been able to find is the diagram, no manual. When the items come I will read the manual, of course, before I start the install, and things should become more clear about what you mean by wiring items. Thank you.

Yes, That is the diagram I was referring to. Thank you. You mentioned in a previous post "As long as U have the wiring items from the RS that will work with your vehicle, as described in the DATABuss Interface install manual" and I was wondering what you meant by that. Jim

The RS itself hooks up (via many wires) to your car. That has to be working properly, or else the JDL-PK module is useless.

OK. I need some help, and the quicker the better. I am installing this system, the Crimestopper RS and the JP-LK-TB1 (same as the JDL-PK). Everything works great except for programming the JP module to duplicate the key. It has accepted programming to unlock/lock, and disable the alarm, but I can not get it to accept programming for transponder. When I put the key in, the RS works, so I know that the JP is the issue. I tried to hotwire the Jeep as it says to in the instructions, and when I put +12V on the Dark Blue (Ignition) wire, there is nothing but a click. When I put the key in and put 12V on the Yellow/Blue (Starter) it starts and runs, but when the key is not in, it does not start. Why won't it start?
