My friend has a '00 bmw 323i w/ the stock keyless entry. He is upset because he can't really tell when the doors lock or unlock since the lights do not flash nor honk the horn. Would I be able to tap in a wire (w/ a diode) from the keyless entry lock wire to one of the parking lights or hazard lights?
If I can, would you be able to tell me where these wires are? Also, if you require a small fee, I'll send it through paypal. Thanks for your help.
have you tried looking in the vehicles owners manual for keyless entry optional adjustments. either that or try your nearest bmw dealer for programming methods.

No, my friend's car is used and he doesn't have the manual to the keyless entry. I'll try calling the dealer. I'm just afraid that they will tell me to bring the car in.
Hi metidogeno, if all else fails and the factory unit can not flash the lights, you can do the following to *flash the lights (or even the horn) once each time the doors are locked or unlocked.
85 to (-) lock wire or unlock wire (diode isolate)
86 to 12V+ (constant)
30 to one side of parking lamp lead**
87a to other side fo parking lamp lead**
87 (not used)
**Parking lamp lead is the 4th wire from the left on the ribbon cable behind the parking light switch. When this lead is cut (opened) the lights wil come one, when the lead is reconnected (closed) the lights will turn off.
Door Lock WHITE/ Black (-) Pin 20 of Module behind Glove Compartment, White Box
Door Unlock Blue/Red (-) Pin 22
If you want to flash the lights for unlock and lock, diode isolate both the lock and unlock wires and connect them to terminal 85 with the cathodes facing away from terminal 85. https://www.the12volt.com/diodes/diodes.asp
*The duration will be limited to the duration of the lock and unlock pulses. You can add more relays, a capacitor, and a resistor to extend the duration if desired (could also make the duration long enough to add a flasher) .... https://www.the12volt.com/relays/page5.asp
