I love Compustar. I have the 2wss-as on both of my chevy's. Very user friendly, easy to install and very functional. The bottom line is the range. You can literally remote start a vehicle from over a mile away. Just make sure you are getting the unit with spread spectrum (it sounds like you are at 90 Mhz). Otherwise the range is limited on a standard FM or AM bandwidth.

You can do it!

Worked for a distributor for them and the failure rate now is not bad. As far as using the spread spectrum, Ive found using the 2WFM sutup works the best.

Can I just get a clarity on the ranges of the different models

2wfm = 1300 feet?

2wss = 6000 feet

900 mhz = ???

Everywhere i look they have different ranges listed.

I've found that the 900 mhz has a field range of about 4000 - 5000 feet range ( this is being pretty reserved ).

I don't know it is true or not . The ad. say ...

These are absolutely the best remote start alarm pager units sold on the market today! This is the 900mhz FM version of Compustars alarm , starter, pager unit.  This technology allows 3000' of range for both paging and starting.  This unit offers nearly twice the range of compustars original FM unit (2WFM-AS).

900mhz operation allows for interference free operation for up to 3000 feet.  This new 900mhz technology allows for the absolute best performance available in the FM band!
