Hello,

Can someone help me out? I purchased a  used 1999 Ford Crown Victoria with keyless entry. (Factory keypad on drivers door). The dealer was not a Ford dealer , and the remote control was missing along with the factory code to use the keyless entry. His technician said he thought the factory code could be found on a sticker on the "RAP" module or taped on the computer module. Anyone know what a "RAP" module is or exactly what computer module he is referring to? Where are these modules located on my car?  Or, can the original factory code be found elsewhere?  Also, can I get a replacement remote somewhere  without going thru Ford? Ford wants lotsa $$$$$. Thanks for any help/advice anyone has.

Actually, the RAP module is the Retained Accessory Power Module. He probably got mixed up. Usually, this code is on a sticker on the RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) module. The module is in the driver's door of your car. You may have to remove the door panel. If you operate the doorlocks from the switch in the car, you should be able to hear the doorlock relays clicking inside the RKE. I hope this helps.

Thanks Mike. I will try getting the door panel off this weekend and see what I find.
