When i arm my compustar on my 98 civic i get the lights and the sound, but the remote showes that my drivers door is open. The driver's door sets the alarm off no problem so I don't understand if the door triger is showing the system upon arming that the driver's door is open, it also shows it open after arm and upon system check button #4 on the remote. Does anyone have an idea of what it may be???? If so please email to heman3@shaw.ca Thanx.

Try to diode isolate the door wire incase you are getting a residual current on this wire that the Compustar is registering.

Ok I understand the purpose of the diode, the barrier potential is supposed to dissallow v or I flow back through the trigger wire. Is there a specific diode that is recommended for this and in which direction should it be installed. Is this a common problem for the compustar system??? Hey and thanx for the quick reply,

Hi Heman
My is Denny, am in IL. I was reading your problem with the Computar alarm in the The12volt.com
I install FM2009 2-way alarm with remoter starter on my civic 93. I have same problem as you have. When arm the system I get a icon door open. As you say, no problem with the driver door set off, got light and sound but the pager shown the icon door open. If you find a way to fix it , please email and if I know, I will let you know. thank DL2055913@YAHOO.COM

Hey Arte;
The diode should be facing the door trigger ( https://www.the12volt.com/diodes/diodes.asp) so that there is no residual allowed to flow back into the trigger wire. You can go down to the local electronics store and grab yourself a few 1N4001 diodes rated at 1 amp and this will be more than sufficient for the wire. Please keep in mind that this is only a guess at what your problem may be, if it still does the same thing, please post your question again and see if there may be another solution.
** Make sure that you diode isolate both doors ( not just the driver's door ) because the Honda uses the same wire for both doors as well as the dome light.**
