Hey, I'm trying to install an OmegaRS-4LX Remote Starter in my 2004 F150. All the main harness hookups are installed and correct. I did not install any of the optional wires. I believe the aux harness is hooked up correctly. But I'm not sure about the pink wire which is the input from the remote. I hooked this wire up to the 'power lock' lead on the BCM behind the rear seat. I'm thinking this should start the truck when the lock button is depressed. Anyway, it's not working. When I fiirst did the little programming sequence in the book, I had the rear door open. After shutting off the key (but with it in the ignition) the truck kept starting and shutting off. I hit the override and shut the door. Now if I open a door, the dash lights and heater will turn on momentarily. In no event can I get a response from the remote other than the normal horn honking and door locking. Where should that pink lead be connected? Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong? With the override switch disabled, everything seems to work as before. Thanks! Larry

How did you bypass the transponder?
Is this an add-on remote starter that works with the factory remotes?

I didn't bypass anything, just installed per the manual. However, when I open the door and the truck tries to start it will only do so if the key is in the ignition. So, I must need some sort of bypass for the key? Yes, it's an add-on that supposedly uses the factory remote. But I can't get it to react to the remote. Just the door being opened, which is not my prefered method of activation. I must have the activation trigger wire hooked up to the wrong place. Any ideas with that? Thanks! Larry

That's your problem, you didn't bypass the E-PATS system. The Ford requires this to be bypassed. To check, leave the key in the ignition and try to remote start your truck. If you wired everything up properly, then the truck should turn over and stay running.

JWorm and Velocity Motors may be right, but I have seen some of these trucks without PATS
Did you Meter Lock wire for a Negative Pulse?
The PINK wire requires aNEGATIVE Pulse to Start.
Try Unhooking Pink wire from Lock wire
Put Key into Ignition
Ground Pink wire
See if the truck will start, If Not, then go over your connections again and reprogram ------------- MO

Thanks for the help. I disconnected the pink wire and when I touch it to ground, the truck does start. But it turns itself off after 30 seconds or so. This is only with the key in the ignition. Should it turn itself off? I just tested every wire coming from the BCM and none give a neg pulse when the remote is activated. Some give a positive. Is there anyplace else I should be looking for a wire with a neg pulse? Larry

try programing your tach sense. that truck has neg trigger door locks. check and see if that pink wire requires one or 2 pulses to start. If it is 2 pulses, put it to the unlock wire and then if you hit unlock twice it will start.

Every 2004 or newer F150 has the newer EPATS system. It is not optional. You need to temorarily bypass it during remote start, Look into the PKU-F2 from bypasskit.com or something similar.
If it remote starts with the key in the ignition and then shuts off about 30 seconds later it is probably a tach wire issue. Are you using tach sense or voltage sense?
You need to change a positive puse from the BCM to a negative pulse by using a relay if that is what your remote start needs for an input.

I just ordered a 556U bypass unit. Right now I'm using voltage sensing but it has the capability to use the tach option. So I'll set that up. I've tested every wire at the BCM and in the DS kickpanel area and can't find a wire that gives me a neg reading on the digital voltmeter when I press the remote. Sure am tired of hearing that horn!
