Subject: Need some remote start help.

I just had a Clifford Matrix RS 3 installed on my truck. I have a 1993 Ford Ranger XLT. The remote start works fine but it does not start the AC/Heater or the radio. I know this model has that function because they advertise it on the box. I was wondering if that feature does not work with my truck because my truck is so old. Any help would be great. Thanks

Sounds like they did not hook up your accessory wire (should be gray / YELLOW).

Not to name names, but where did you have this installed? They should not have let a remote start go out the door that didn't run the heater....

Where do I hook up the accessory wire? I had the alarm installed at Best Buy.

you should have 3-4 gray / YELLOW wires you know its not the one athey used, so you can either hook up to the one and have the radio work or probably the 3rd one and have the heater work,  why would you want the radio one when remote started??  good luck  Boogie

matt you wont hurt anything tying into any of the gray / YELLOW wires.  if you want you can take a red wire going to the remote starter and hook up to one of the wires and it will turn on the radio or athe heater.  do this with the key off.   sorry i didnt tell you this before.

I'd strongly recommend you go back to the retailer and have them fix it. This is clearly their fault. If you start messing around in there, you are voiding your warranty...

matt,

just wanted to say i seen ur problem and I happen to work at best buy. I just wanted to appologize as an installer for any inconvienence you may have had and let you know that if you go the the installation supervisor and let them know what has happened they will definitly get it taken care of for you as far as I know and hopefully hook u up with a gift card or something. I hope everything works out.

peace
