I'm a newer installer and haven't worked with some of these new fancy alarms (and newer vehicles). I recently purchased a Viper 791xv. Been gathering info and studying the install guide for some time now. I do have a few questions after reading through it throughly.

1) Acoording to the install guide, I should use a relay when pulsing the factory disarm wire. I've been told that this wire is not a high current drawing wire and no relay is needed. Is this true?

2) The H1 harness has a WHITE/ blue (-) Remote start activation input. I've never used this before. Is this just so I could put a button on the dash to "Promixity Start" the car if you will?

3) Are there really any advantages to connecting the OEM rearm wire?

4) What is the second unlock output used for (-) light blue (H2/6)? Progessive unlocking?

Thanks!

1) Depends on the car
2) You can put this anywhere and hook it up to a momentary switch and start the car with a button.
3) You should be tieing into the wire not cutting it, depending on car
4) Yes it is for progressive unlock if wanted. If you choose this then you would have to do a couple of relays and wire them differently, again depending on car.

To expand on 3)

Advantage is that then you get whatever factory security there is for free. In some cars this gives you fuel pump kill or starter kill, or horn honking (in addition to your siren). Most of that isn't a big deal or is possible/easy to replicate...
