i am in the middle of installing a remote start/alarm in my 2004 tiburon. i have most of it done except i cant find anywhere. how or where to connect the immobilizer bypass and how to disarm the factory alarm. i purchased a magicar 8100 off ebay. its not the best but it does the job, that all i really need it to do. can you please help me

Does it have a transponder based key if so what kind of bypass module are you using?

Some vehicles can be be very hard to bypass factory transponder type immobilisers, they usually require a kit of components designed for that particular vehicle. One way you can get around the problem is to permantly bypass the factory immobiliser by using a spare key for the car ( in particular the transponder chip inside the key ) and fixing it to the back of the ignition barrell , I have had to do this in the past on a bmw when it was very hard to information on them. what do you mean by a transponder based key? the car key itself? the alarm remote start has a built in bypass moduel. do i need another? i seen them but the booklet does not say anything else about a bypass modual (transponder).

Yes the key itself , I do not Know the model itself but vehicles have a transponder chip inside the car key and if you remove this on your spare key and attach it to the igtion barrell itself inside the steering shroud so the transponder chip is in a close area to the ignition barrel the cars immobilizer will the think the car be started with the key. ( I know this is probally not the most preferd option but if there is no information for that model it is a option you could use) Good luck ------------- ozy installer

As far as I know, you need to use the universal bypass units for these. They are cheap and you still have to loose a key, but you don't have to permanently immobilize the anti theft system. Only during remote start sequence will you need the module to engage. As far as the OEM alarm goes, the system can only be armed and disarmed through the remote control, so just don't arm the system and it's all good.

wow thats alot of info. im scared to do this type of work. im only 19, and its my first car alarm/remote start that i ever installed. im almost done with the install, except im afraid in messing up the car. does anyone wanna finish the job. i live on the island in NY.

cause of the rf only factory alarm hook up keyless with the starter and put your factory remote away...then you won't have any problems with the alarm going off
