I have a 1996 Ford Explorer and I only have one remote for it, I have a remote from a ford Windstar, they look just the same, is there anyone to change it to where it will work with the Explorer instead. I know with a Nissan you can reprogram a remote, I didn't know if it is possible with Ford, and if so how. Thanks!

As far as I know this will not work. The programming instructions for each vehicle are totally different meaning that the code is different. The the remote control will not learn the different code associated with the other remote from the other vehicle because it is expecting something different that what is being transmitted.

TRY:
(1) If equipped with Ford Anti Theft....Make sure it is Dis-Armed
(2) Turn Ignition Switch ON then OFF 5 Times within 10 Seconds leaving the Ignition Switch ON the 5th Time
(3) The Doors will Lock then UNLock to confirm entry programming mode
(4) Press any Button on Transmitter The Doors will Lock then UNLock to confirm receiving code
(5) All Transmitters should be done at this time
(6) To Exit Turn OFF Ignition Switch
U can code up to 4 Transmitters

actually it should work, I took a four button remote from a mustang gt that my brother wrecked, and programmed it for my 99 expedition that normally has a three button remote. I believe the sequence for programming goes like this, however correct me if it does not work.... Get in the drivers seat with all the remotes you want to program, close the door, stick your key in the ignition, turn it from off to run (not start, just run, thats where it goes after you crank) about 6 to 8 times, the system will acknowledge you are in programming mode by locking and unlocking the doors, within 20 seconds press unlock or lock button on a remote you want to program (I belive the doors will perform that buttons function if they recieve the command, but Im not completely sure), now do the same for all of the remotes you want to program, now just wait for 20 seconds for the doors to unlock and lock and you are done. Hope this helps

So I don't need to full start it in each turn? just to the att where the radio will power on, but the engine is not running?

That is correct just the run position not crank. On some newer models you have to flip the key eight times. On your truck it should only be five. Try it both ways if you need too.
