If you plan to do locks and alarm I suggest getting a module for that, make the install 100 times easier. Most tech sheets say not to use 12v lights brown white behind the switch, but it works, done a hundred or more no problem. Brake wire is easier to get in the big harness running across. You will see it when you take off the panels to get at the ignition harness. It is stil a white wire. It is a bit of a pain to go to the brake switch ie tough to get back at it. The wire is almost always visible, don't even have to cut in the harness

you'll have to use a passlock interface with it too

Use the PLDATA for bypass. This will save you tons of time

Going to the switch isn't worth it. The park light wire is brown (+) in the same harness your talking about getting the brake in. There's a few brown wires the one you want will have sort of a texture on it makes it easy to pick out. As for other tricks can't really think of anything for a remote starter alone one of the easiest installs you can do. If doing keyless grab a module as suggested.. For the passlock 2 bypass I would suggest the PLDATA as well like Jeff mentioned. Only problem is the PLDATA won't take care of the factory alarm which usually goes off on trailblazers when remote started.. And the OEM disarm wire is in the driver door..

I use the GMDL-BP for the doorlocks/alarm/anti-theft. As for the brake, use the white wire in the trailer towing pack. It's the little box you have to unclip to remove the bottom panel under the steering column.
